  1. Bump - Are you SURE you don't need this overflow?
  2. I live your question, great creativity and stretching the hobby. Unfortunately I don’t know an answer for you. Not my expertise.
  3. Eli - Thanks for the detailed responses. I look forward to the next evolution of your analysis.
  4. Take the extra drive time, visit Cuttle Fish and Corals too. 6363 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97239
  5. I ran it into my skimmer for a few years, because I'd heard it was "good." I can't claim to notice specific results, so I stopped. (I had a free Ozone unit, so it didn't cost anything to Try it.)
  6. I use MainBrew (5670 NW Clara Ln, Hillsboro, OR 97124) for my exchanges. If you've got the space, 20lb is the industry standard for Soda Machines at restaurants. And that's what I upgraded to. Just bring your existing bottle in, tell them you'd like to upgrade to a 20lb bottle and exchange. They'll charge you for the price difference between a new 5lb and a new 20lb, and then the cost of the refill. Super easy. (I started in your situation years ago. Super Pretty new 5lb bottle. Now, I just do exchanges - don't care what the refill bottle looks like. It's soo much easier.)
  7. I've got some interesting frags of classic Red Montipora Capricornus. approx 3" around. It's an SPS, but easier to medium. But as a stony coral, just sits there. (no movement to keep it interesting) You're welcome to one. I'm around this weekend. In the Cedar Mill area of town.
  8. I got feedback that it isn't obvious what this product is. Just google : "reef savvy ghost overflow" Here's web details and some pictures once I unwrapped it. This is Beautifully Made! Super clean construction. Won in the raffle at MACNA. Passing the savings on to you. $100 From Vendor Website: GEN5 21″ GHOST OVERFLOW $300.00 <-- (Vendor Price. I'm selling for $100.) Available Exclusively on Reef Savvy Aquariums Specifications: 1,500 GPH Interior Box: 21″L x 1.25″W x 6″H Laser Cut Removable Weir Cover (2) 1.5″ Mounting Bulkheads Exterior Box: 21″L x 2.5″W x 8″H (3) 1″ Direct Connect Drains 3/8″ Heavy Duty Polycarbonate Cover REDESIGNED, REIMAGINED, REINVENTED. The Reef Savvy Ghost overflow is simple, sleek, and most importantly dead silent. It’s the perfect marriage between aesthetics and functionality. It is the culmination of a lifetime of reef keeping experiences, backed up by 20 years of aquarium design and fabrication. Although, there are bargain brand imports and mass-produced mold injection overflows that bear a superficial resemblance to the Ghost, a closer look will reveal just how different they really are. From the materials we use, to the machining and assembly process, every aspect of the Ghost has been thoughtfully taken into consideration. (... more ...) PLUMBING THE GHOST OVERFLOW. The Ghost Overflow is extremely versatile by design; having 3 drains, it will accept just about any plumbing configuration. There are many popular and proven plumbing methods to choose from. Many of these methods have obvious similarities and may have been inspired, or derived by one or the other. Our personal favorite is the Beananimal method; it’s dead silent, employs a full siphon, and requires the use of an emergency drain. Regardless of the method you choose, we recommend you maintain one of the drains as an emergency. Some of the other popular plumbing configurations are the Durso Standpipes and The Herbie Method. 9. Thank you SunCrestReef. Yes, I bought his whole setup, but only need the lights. Thus passing the rest along to others. For Sale: - Neptune WXM module - $70 --> SOLD - Two (2) Diffusers for Radion XR30w Pro Gen 4 LED lights (not the lights themselves - just the diffusers) - $60 (for the pair) SOLD All gently used, looks like new. Here's SunCrestReef's original price logic. It's sound, I'm following it for the Diffusers and WXM
  10. Eli, One feedback. Your reports include Sample Date, but they don't include Report Generation Date. As you're updating the coding and report generations, I'd love to see a Report Date (or Report Coding Rev) added. So I can ask you questions about a specific .pdf revision. Overall, my report is a Low Balance Score (am I the lowest?) With a huge "Bacteriovoracaceae", and almost non-existent "Flavobacteriaceae" & "Pelagibacteraceae". Any idea what that means? (BTW, I accept an answer of I-Don't-Know. That's I'm here to support learning.) Otherwise I was in the "green range" of other items. Except fish pathogens, with a high "Photobacterium damselae". But, my fish are all doing fine. One question I don't remember you asking us when submitting the sample is, "how long has your tank been effectively up and running, and have you dosed any medications in the last 12 months." I've been up for > 10 years, but Yes I've dosed Interceptor Plus (for Red Bugs) and Bendazole Fenbendazole Powder (for Blue Clove Polyps) within 12 months of giving you the sample. Thank you for continuing to look across these samples. Reef Keeping is about Learning! -David J. O'Brien AquaBiomics report 2019-09-09 Update - 1000037.pdf

  13. Quick Update... reason #1,000,000 why I love my wife. Guess what she just bought me as a surprise! (Retail price)
  14. Attended the Neptune Meetup this morning, and one person in our group won the right to buy an Trident. Wish it was me. BRS just gave away 5 Tridents, and then $2500 credit. I didn’t want to carry around a big box all day anyway. So I’m saving my Win for the same drawing they’re doing tomorrow. Trident here I come! (Hope, always hope.)
  15. Thanks for the update. I love the start up learning curve. How it’s supposed to work is never exactly how it turns out working. If there’s value, you have my permission to discuss my sample openly. Compare and contrast away. (And if you need another sample to trend over time, I’m happy to provide another any time.)
  16. At the airport now, all flights on schedule. Return trip is the end of next week, so not trying to get out Monday - which looks like a storm peak day. Our Florida friends tell us we’re going to have a great time at MACNA, no matter what. Years ago, macna was in Miami the weekend after Hurricane Andrew hit. I still went.
  17. We fly out tomorrow morning for Orlando. Anyone else going to macna, PM me and let's try and connect.
  18. My apologies. I RSVP'd as a Yes... and unfortunately I've had a death in the family and will miss the Saturday's event.
