Horses require a ton of stuff to hitch to, so if in the display fuge section you will want to keep it tall and have a bunch of cheato and kalurpa. Also a tall tonga type branch mounted vertically. They seem to like to sleep together in one spot. My manderine has no trouble not having much of a sand bed. He cruises through the kalurpa and just "lays" in it most of the day. Some say low flow, but Nnewhouse has a ton of flow in his horse tank and they love it.

What about a "hang on back " style, like the remora, but a larger unit and hang it on the sump? With an ATO and consistant water level there, it shouldnt fluctuate and work well. I have an Eshopps hanging on my sump and it works great.

I have a few that I keep at bay ( 3) and I enjoy them.

Andrew, sell the skimmer and get one that works! I fought the same issues on the reef tank with 2 different Remora set ups. Put it up on RC and it will sell in a day or two.

How about a larger pump and larger diameter hose from your reservoir?

I used to rush out and spend my wad on AMAZING corals during the 1st 6 months that my first tank was up and running. If I would have just slowed down and been patient, I could have funded the next 2 tanks with the money I had lost in live animals (coral), not to mention all the different test kits, 2 part, mag, calcium , salt etc. that I tried. My suggestion is to keep looking at stuff, go to stores, meetings, forums etc. but leave you wallet in the car for 6 months. After succesfully getting Zoa's and mushrooms to multiply and everything is stable for that period, then get some cool stuff.

That's a nice thought randy.but.....do the research Bob on a sportster ( I'm a big guy and no way would iever be comfortable on a sportster ) and a new sportster is only 9k. Look for an older wide glide or softail for the same money. Or, spend a few grand more and grab a road king or ultra classic. If you were in the 13 range look at 2001 (twin cam motor) and newer touring bikes ie roadglide roadking ultra etc. You will never own another bike again.

Fall is here, camping plans are slowing down and weekends looking open. Who's up to a Sunday Chili Cook-off at our place followed by a tank tour? Give me a Sunday in the next 6 weeks that works for you and if you would host a stopover on a tank tour. My thought are having it start at noon, clearing the garage out in case of rain, setting up some tables and warmer plates. Bring the kids,dogs,wives, husbands,partners etc. (Not necessarlily in that order) and your best pot o chili. Ill have bowls, spoons,soda,ro water etc. Come one come all!
