  2. We where all just having fun, in what I thought was the appropriate forum, but I guess I didn't know the line was so close and that we crossed it. +1

  4. Here is why living in Oregon is so interesting. Taken 3 days apart, north bound I5 near corvallis and north bound Hwy 99 near corvallis....DOUBLE RAINBOW!!! and another favorite topic
  5. ok, back to reggiseno and mutandine
  6. Kim, sorry for the request. I suppose it stems from several things in life. If I was in my livingroom and had to choose between keeping my beautifull tanks or a personal protection/put food on the table tool, well.....we all have priorities in life. (typing with soft un-offensive clay-like fingers) LOL
  7. My dad has a pair of Colt matched Sniper AR-15's , metal factory cases and all documents if interested, but he has no tank stuff to trade. LOL Thanks for the pic!
  8. "OK, I got about 2/3rds down on page 1 and decided I'll leave my big fat typing fingers out of this one- Thanks for the increase in blood pressure " Will you at least change your icon back to the old handgun one for this thread, just to keep me entertained?
  9. "BTW, did anyone see the proposal to make it legal for motorcycles to drive between cars when traffic is stopped? Yet another example of a law that would both create a hostile environment and that would get people killed. " As a lifelong motorcyclist, driver of cars, trucks, walker and bicyclist ( just to set it straight) I do not agree with this law. California allows motorcyclists to "lane split" even though it is against the law there. They have continued to let it go and let it be at the officers discression to enforce. For those of you who have never been in the sunshine state during gridlock, its a pain worse on an air cooled Harley that is about to throw the crankshaft into the pavement due to excessive overheating in stop and go traffic. This debate should fall under " how many stupid things can Californians bring to Oregon during thier stay here until education and housing get back on track where they are from" catagory. P.S. my wife is a die hard californian and is slowly comming back to reality while she has been here. Kim...start a poll!
  10. Ok, here it goes....I own (1 )roadbike (1) Motorcycle (2) mountain bikes (4) snowboards (3) 4 wheel drive vehicles (2) 2 wheel drive cars (1) drift boat (1) commercial guide raft (1) R.V. (4) saltwater tanks (2) quads (2) dirt bikes (2) snowmobiles (2) hound dogs (1) cat and am married with 1 successfull 21 year old child. I am not posting this pile of insured and licensed list of material items to prove that I consume more fuel in recreation than most or that I have a unique balence of motorized vs. human powered sports in my life or that my dogs, cat, wife and child have cost more than the rest of the items. It's mentioned because I find that I have been blessed with some knowledge in a variety of lifestyles/sports etc.......I'm just saying when I am standing in line waiting for a new tube on any of my bikes and I can't seem to get helped in a timely manner at the local bike shop because the current cash register topic is about how "the city of Eugene has their head in their a$$ and needs to fix the streets "or that the " did you see the guy in the car almost hit me when I was riding accross the street to get here" conversations from die hard BIKE ONLY people, It makes me want to ask how they contributed to help pave the roads and maintain them. Was it the tax they paid? Insurance or licensing they paid? they classes they took? ( I am a class A, triples, hazmat endorsed License holder, boat license holder, ATV license holder, private pilot, motorcyle endorsed etc.) or was it the " I'm just going to cross traffic at speed and forgoe any traffic laws, lights, pedestrians, parking bars for bikes and walk the bike into the store attitude that makes most bicyclist seem above the law and respect of others....just saying LOL! Kim's venting topic can be applied to ANY one of my personal modes of transportation, oh and I hitch hike more than anyone I know....mostly when rafting or fishing the rivers as to not take 2 vehicles or promote shuttle traffic on our already crowded roads. I'm just venting and hating on Bicyclists ( which I am ) right now and having another one taking a stand on an obesity epidemic by confusing it with those who drive vs. bike is just baffling me right now....have a nice commute!
  11. Sounds like there needs to be more trees up there to hug. So you are saying all people who drive cars are fat or that only skinny people ride bikes? " I'm so glad that bicyclists put so little wear on the road so that we don't have to worry about it " Wow...Either you have missed the point or are agreeing that they belong "in the road"?
  12. P.s. Kim, thanks for getting my blood boiling....I was having a "day" at work too.
  13. +1. They must have moved up there from Eugene, but they left their mentally challenged siblings( bicyclists ) down here. You know the ones that don't pay road tax, but want all of the pot holes fixed, pull out in front of you like "they own the road" and have a total disregard for traffic signals. I wonder if they would change thier ways if they really understood the term " dead men/women don't talk"?
  14. "Another question. The car has old stickers on the registration plate. I think it has a 2008. What do you do in this case? You just buy the one for the current year at DMV? I mean, you can store a car and not having to buy the stickers of you are not using it? " When you go to register it in your name, you will get stickers then. Make sure the bill of sale and title transfer dates are less than 30 days or you get fined.
  15. +1 on resealing it when you get back if it's leaking and just adding fluid on the road trip. +1 on no matter how much you do there , you will work on it at home...older cars will consume your life, therfore we should PM each other on a sale price and I will take it off your hands. We can set up which weekends you would like to drive it.LOL!
  16. I'm still waiting for the " ok " from my wife...aka all of my honey doo's done by saturday. If I can go, it would be last minute and I could still get the $14 to you when I get there? Or, is there a cut off time/date for a head count?
  17. If that car ran and was parked in 07' I could have it running in less that 2 hours, 2 hours and 10 minutes if converting it to electronic ignition and I would drive it back. Sure you might have an axle seal start to leak from sitting, a water pump seal leak, radiator seam etc. You will need most of the common replacement parts anyway, why not replace them there and enjoy the trip back? Bring : floor jack, stands, 4 tires, all engine gaskets including carb rebuild kit, axle seals, front wheel seals, all brake cylinders, master cylinder rebuild kit, water pump, tune up items including a coil, trans pan and rear diff gaskets, u joints, all coolant hoses a couple gallons of coolant, a case of oil ( extra in case you have a problem on the way back), transmission fluid, brake fluid and some fuel dryer. Jack up the car 1st and get the whhels/tires and new tires into Cave Jct Chevron at the south end of town ( they have a tire machine) and then pull the carb and clean it/rebuild it. Replace tune up items and while plugs are out-lube cylinders and manually turn engine over, check hoses and/or replace them. Check for external leaks at engine trans and rear differential, replace gaskets as needed. Add fuel stabilizer and fill tank with 100 low lead ( that you got from the airport on the way down, I like Creswell, has a card machine and open 24hrs.) Put that new battery in it. Start it and check/set timing. Go get the tires and a BBQ sandwich from the place across the street. Install tires, double check pressure, drop the top, put a nice warm coat on and try not to get bugs in your teeth from the smile on your face during the 5 hour drive back! Thats the long list. Like I said, if grandpa had it running in 07' mabey 2.5 hours including the tail light thats missing.
  18. I'm waiting for " Grassi's Trighton build " or the address of the one he has in Italy so I can ride it when i'm over there.
  19. As a car trailer owner and old car enthusiast I 100% recommend towing it. However, I drove 10 hours with a trunk load of parts and tools to get a 72 Swinger back on the road that hadn't been ran/drove for 6 years and recently purchased a 70 Ford truck from Garrett that hadn't ran for 10 years. After a few trips to the parts store and 8 hours of "in the driveway" rebuilding, I was able to drive it away. I did blow both front tires on the way home, had a lug wrench but wrong size, one spare not 2 etc. but that is part of the fun in my book.
  20. ROAD TRIP TO RESURECT AN OLD CAR!!! WHoo Hooo, I'm in!! Alex, lemme know when you want to go get it. I'm always up for classic car resurection. Grab that battery from Dee77, its a smokin deal. Not really designed for everyday use, but will work fine. You should be able to get a cap and other parts locally from Napa, Car Quest etc. Feel free to pass along my # to your uncle and I can get a good idea of what you migh need i.e. parts, tools, ramps etc. P.s. if you do decide to get it, bring Dillan and we will leave him at my place with the dogs.
