  1. I'll take a frag to be named later if you want it. I don't really want any cash for it. I'm in the Hazel Dell area, shoot me a pm this weekend and you can come and pick it up if you want. Mike
  2. yep... make me an offer, its just sitting around collecting dust. got any corals for trade?
  3. sorry, all I have left in my 400 watters is a single 12k reeflux that was ran for about 5-6 months. Mike
  4. Its not that hard, but definitely takes alot of time, so most shops wont do it. I buffed out my 225 reef and it took over 40 hours easy. I started with 400 grit sandpaper and worked up thru 12,000 and then took a buffer with novus 3 and then 2. Looks brand new. My friend just buffed out his 300 gallon tank and only went up to about 2000 i believe and it looks great also. Just alot of work, lol.
  5. I'll take it if you can wait until next weekend for me to pick up. Mike
  6. 1 word....no J/K. I think a tank eventually reaches an equillibrium if we ever stop messing with it...but i find that hard to do and haven't been able to reach that point yet.
  7. is this a crack in acrylic? Weld on 16 is pretty thick and will fix acrylic.
  8. Hi all Just sold off my 400w ballasts and most of the bulbs, but I have 2 left. I have a brand new 400w radium that has never been fired and an almost new 20k reeflux 20k. I am looking to set up a 40 gallon or so qt tank so I would be willing to trade for a 40 gallon breeder or something similar plus I need some sort of filtration like a HOB filter or some lights, normal output is fine. Nothing fancy needed, just is going to be a QT/hospital treatment tank. Let me know what you got to trade. Thanks Mike
  9. what are the dims on the 305 gallon water tank? Thanks
  10. I have 3 400W coralvue dimmable ballasts for sale. They have been used for approximately 9 months. Downgrading to 250w halides. I still have the original boxes. $100 each . I also have a collection of 400w bulbs 3 reeflux 12K used for about 5 months- $30 each or $75 for all three 1 reeflux 20K used for about 2 weeks (didn't like the color)- $40 3 Radium bulbs used for about 3 months (under driven on the coralvue dimmable ballasts so they still have plenty of life left on them-$40 each or $90 for all 3. 12. crosshatch is spoken for. Still available Regal angel Blue spot naso 4 PJ cardinals yellow eye cole tang
  13. Thanks for the kind words, it pains me to sell them, but the tank needs some work. Having a sps meltdown currently and cant isolate the problem. Going to run fishless for a little bit as well as "cook" some of the rock that has a algae on it that no one in the aquatic world will touch, lol! The moorish idol is sold. Also for sale is a mature mated pair of black and white percs. $50-75 These guys came from spectra and are totally black exhibiting breeding behavior...including biting my hand everytime it goes in the tank, lol. Mike
  14. alot of people are asking for prices... so I would like to get 2-300 for the trigger, 50-75 for the naso, 50-75 for the regal, and 50 or so for the idol. I'll also have some PJ cardinals and a yellow eye cole tang that have been in my tank for over 9 months. Mike
  15. The moorish was eating a brain coral that the previous owner had. I don't have any lps but do have a large clam and he has left that alone. The previous owner had alot of other lps and said it only liked the brain. Andy...what do you mean? Mike
  16. I am going to downsize the larger livestock in my sps tank so I have a few fish for sale. 10" male crosshatch triggerfish- this fish is amazing and eats anything and everything you feed. Has not bothered other fish or inverts either, lives and gets cleaned with a large cleaner shrimp and some very small pipe fish and chromis. 6" Regal angel- beautiful fish, hasn't bothered my large clam or any of my sps 5" moorish idol- eats everything...including some lps corals, lol. This guy is awsome and will feed out of your hand. 8" blue spot naso tang- great fish with a great personality. Make me an offer on these. I would like them to go to suitable tanks, so no nano owners asking to purchase the crosshatch please(laugh) I will be catching them on Saturday so they will be available then. Mike
  17. The reason people dont run directly from the RO/DI unit is the first little bit of water produced from the unit has a much higher TDS. Take a reading immediately when you start the unit and you will be shocked how high it is. If you add directy to the sump from the unit, you will be turning the unit on and off and so on, adding higher than normal TDS water. In a well designed system, the resevoir would only fill when it gets low, so you minimize the high TDS water by filling a resevoir when needed.... the larger the resevoir, the less times the RO/DI unit has to turn on and off. HTH The key to ATO is to have redundant systems in place like float switchs or pressure switches that turn the system off if it senses a failure from the water being too high.
  18. no, I have a litermeter dosing out of it on a constant basis so I just let it be...
  19. mine gets a small amount of brown along the bottom of the container... hasn't seemed to effect anything though.
  20. Yep, just different stickers. The meshwheels could be different also because each place does there own. I had mine running for about 1-2 months on a 70 gallon frag tank...but decided to simplify my system and plumb it in with the main system which runs a reeflo orca 250, so the msx 200 wasn't needed anymore. It ran great for the time I had it. They are a little touchy at first if you decide to use the meshwheel, some are balanced and some are not and need to be re-meshed or they get loud and have start up issues. I know they now have a "purple" pinwheel that is suppose to pull the same numbers as the mesh with no start up issues so you may want to look into one of those. $for$ these are one of the best skimmers on the market today. There is a VERY long thread going on RC if you haven't seen it you should sit down for a (ok many) hour and read it, has all sorts of great info. Its in the lighting and filtration forum. Also, marine solutions has a forum on RC that alot of owners post on. They are pretty plug and play...at least for me it was. I just set it up on a stand in about 8" of water and let it rip! I sold the skimmer to scott and he in turn has let Jordan from Waves borrow the skimmer and he has been running it for a month or so now. I talked to him last week and he said that it is really touchy in his system, skimming wet then dry, then wet again....so take that for what its worth.
  21. did you get in on the RC deal? Killer deal and you wont be disappointed...
  22. I have a male/female pair of bellus in my 225g sps tank and they are the most active fish in the tank, constantly chasing each other around and playing...plus they are stunning fish to look at!
