  1. Glad you get a bit of a break Jeff. That said, this means I have to do more planning... I am not so good at that.
  2. Thanks Jay! I figured the current platform didn't support it plus "chat" tech has changed a lot over the years so not even sure what the current equivalent looks like (outside of the office app style ones). Certainly the stability gain from the switch was well worth losing the chat feature - not to mention admins not having to maintain servers in their unpaid free time!
  3. I love your micro projects! Too bad the tidepool one didn't work out.
  4. Cool. We could work it in later in the year as well if you decide you want to host... just thinking "out loud". Thanks!
  5. Always a good reminder. Usually what breaks for me is the one thing I don’t have a backup of. Probably just jinxed myself there...
  6. I like this idea. I often wondered if we could mine the profile data for this in some way to maybe display a map view. Pinging our admin pros to see if it’s even possible. @TheClark @Chief If not, we could do something like you suggest that is self select.
  7. That is a nice acan! Good to see some of these showing up in the stores again... seems like the supply of more colorful specimens dried up for a while. I haven't paid close enough attention to know if any of the collection/export embargoes impacted that.
  8. Well shoot - sorry to hear about the crash Scott. At least it sounds like yours was a bit easier to track down (not that that lessens the pain). Good luck on the reboot. If I wasn't in the process myself I would be happy to throw some things your way although I do have some zoas if you want to frag them.
  9. Will be good to get back there for a visit - looking forward to it!
  10. Hey Brian @pdxmonkeyboy, you interested in doing something like this at your place as a feature of a meeting? Along with your tank setup, I think it would make for a pretty sweet event. Maybe your neighbors would let us park in their yards?
  11. Will be curious to hear how this works out for you. Congrats on the new setup - bummer about the shipping damage.
  12. This is a great find and a very nice club intro Ryan! BTW - anyone recall the chat feature we had on the original platform? I recall a few hardcore folk would get on there in the evening and exchange some banter.
  13. I think I had a canister filter and T12s on my first saltwater tank (must have been '91 or so). Needless to say, fish only! Closed loop was very intriguing, especially with the "wave" devices, but never got around to it - had a 60 cube in my basement that was drilled for it which I never set up. I think there are a couple peeps on here running them today.
  14. Now that looks familiar! I remember you posting on a thread a while back that you had taken the original photo used for the card but couldn't remember your user name. Glad you found this.
  15. Nice specimens Bert! Not sure how I missed this earlier. Still need to find my way out to your shop - can’t believe I haven’t made it there yet 🙁
  16. Sounds like we were on fairly similar timelines but I didn’t make it to many meetings back then. Bought my first saltwater tank from Souta’s shop when it was in his garage at his house off Clinton ten eventually bought Lowma’s 120 when he was downsizing. BTW - I still have one of those original laminated member cards in my wallet... never know when they will come back in style! Always good to hear some history.
  17. This would be so incredibly satisfying... nothing like using some of nature's tools against our common "pests". If only they eat majanos.
  18. Oh... another interesting choice! Thanks Miles.
  19. Oh man... sorry to hear about your flood and consequent turmoil. Sad to see this come down after just doing all the work to set it up and transfer your old setup. Great deal for someone looking for a nice turn key system. GLWS.
  20. Well , at least now we have a few more varieties locally - self sacrifice for the win!
  21. Have you checked to make sure none of the cats are missing?
  22. Yeah, I was surprised to see how meek yours was being in the presence of the others... ours is a terror. Surprisingly, however, it seems to be tolerating the blue jaw we just introduced. Probably just luring us into a false feeling of security...
  23. Your tangs are soft! My sailfin would have had that entire clip yanked off the glass in about 15 seconds 😄
