  1. I had heard this was pretty depressing... probably needed more beer to get through it. I'm honestly not sure I would be able to take it either - kind of overwhelmed with sad information re climate, species extinction rates, deforestation, etc. etc.
  2. Very odd. Is there a batch number or other identifier such that this could be reported back to the company? Just seems way off from what their target likely is and, obviously, what your prior experience indicates.
  3. That is disturbing. Would have to be a significant difference for a 20% change to bring the setpoint down that far unless something else funky was going on. Does everything look OK?
  4. Cool idea! I would normally be up for this but I think we have plans to stop by our college reunion event that night.
  5. This is hilarious... The basic operation of the ATK is to tell the PMUP (Practical Multi-purpose Utility Pump…only Neptune would create an acronym that spelled backwards describes the actual device) Question: Can you set the value for defer to "zero" for testing purposes or do you need to have a minimum value (one second) or delete the line altogether? This stuff is great BTW.
  6. I like this category... I know I have seen some awesome chalices out there in people's tanks. Lets see em!
  7. One of the members here is working on opening a shop in Vancouver so keep an eye out. ReefBox is the name of the (soon to be opened?) shop if I recall correctly.
  8. That is sadly correct - overran everything and couldn't find anything to eat or kill them. Ugh, not so fond memories.
  9. Well , the good news is that the total swing is between 8.0 and 8.3 so still pretty stable compare to many I’m sure. Would be interesting to see this superimposed with your light schedule- how in sync are they?
  10. I know that Jeff at Cuttlefish has them in stock so I'm guessing they are starting to make their way into the local reef community. Hopefully someone on here with some experience can chime in.
  11. Welcome (back) Jeff. I think you may have just taken the prize for longest hiatus - lot of us on here have taken multi-year breaks but 25 is a big one. Indeed, lots of the tech has changed somewhat (it's kind of fun catching up on that) but good husbandry and patience rules as always (harder said than done for sure). Lots of knowledgable and helpful peeps on here if you run into questions. Looking forward to seeing pics of the new setups when you get stocked. Cheers!
  12. Glad to see some new pics - things are looking great (as always)!
  13. Nice work Scott @spectra! Now maybe you have some time for light hangers 😀 Like the idea of the open stand and higher sitting tank - preferable to tall stands myself despite being height challenged.
  14. Thanks for the recap and offer to share! Interesting material for sure.
  15. Definitely worth the trip! Was out there for the first time at our meeting and was very impressed. Lots of nice livestock and well laid out. Bret and Naomi are super helpful as well.
  16. I know... I was thinking the same thing. Hey Brian, why don't you repost this bad boy in the POTM thread? @pdxmonkeyboy
  17. Glad that worked out but sad to see you go - always hate to lose long time members of the community but I get it (been there myself). Good luck with your post-reef adventures.
  18. Been using one for over two years with no problems. Guessing from some of the posts above that this basic design is marketed under a few different brand names currently so not sure if there is any real difference in the quality of the product - may all be made in the same factory FWIW. Have mine mounted inside the cabinet at the top so away from any "spray" but has held up fine.
  19. Very nice looking Daniel! Excited to see these in person.
  20. Should be your's - our comments were about needing a price for the posting. I will hide those as no longer relevant.
  21. Sorry to hear. I know that Terry and Tewsly at Seahorse successfully treated an Achilles for this a couple of months back in the shop... maybe check in with them and see what course of treatment they used? It recovered really well and was a beautiful fish.
  22. Wow - this is kind of shocking and sad but I think we have all been there at one point or another... life has a way of doing that. Hope it finds a good home - seems like you have several possibilities at this point.
