What do you want for raffle prizes ?
albertareef replied to Emerald525's topic in Meetings and Events
Mini lop for the win! Definitely a cute one but not sure it’s bright enough for you Cherany 😁 -
You just had to throw down that gauntlet didn’t you 😵
-
Yep - my new tank made it about a week before it flooded the dinning room. 😳
-
For some strange reason, this feels like a threat j/k Doge... will look forward to seeing you there (wig or no wig).

Bummer. Sorry I am of no help here Holly.
-
Good call - I am sure that contributes to how well everything seems to be doing. I hope losing the 300 didn't entail any tragedy but at least what you are running now looks fantastic. Sounds like you may have joined us for the fragfest this year - that is awesome! We are hoping to lure some vendors from farther afield as well... maybe next year. Not sure we could handle two a year though - some significant recovery time may be involved

Welcome! Those have the look of happy, mature tanks! Very nice. You might hold the current record for sump/refugium volume relative to display size if I am reading that right.

When Your CR Flow Is Steady, and CO2 Flow Is Steady
albertareef replied to TheClark's topic in General Discussion
I'm envious - I don't have data recording for my solenoid. Now I feef inferrior Oh well, I don't have flow data either so I might as well just give up. j/k Jeremy - really interesting to see all the tracking data on this with your system mods. -
Haha! Can't let a good pun go unacknowledged!

Oh - I also love that pic of Cherany, Holly and I! Probably when she won the aquarium and I was telling her she had to haul it out on her own- 16 replies

October 2017 NW Frag Festival with Laura Simmons Pictures
albertareef replied to badxgillen's topic in Meetings and Events
Thanks Bert! Your writes ups and pics are always one of my favorite parts of any club event. You always seem to capture the excitement and camaraderie of these get togethers and provide excellent narrative for those that weren't able to make it. I know it takes a lot of time and effort so definitely want to make sure you know it's appreciated! Awesome to have such a knowledgeable, energetic and committed group of officers who can pull something like this together and make it (at least in my mind) a success. Hope we get the opportunity to do it all again next year! (already going over notes on improvements) BTW - I hope the baby acro frag made it... I think you will like it.- 16 replies

Hey Brian, where are you measuring pressure? I have seen some pretty big pressure drops across the canister filters in front of the RO membrane when they have become clogged due to water supply issues. Just wondering if that might be happening to you so the membrane isn’t really getting fed at 80. I never figured out what the issue was with the supply but just kept having to swap out the micron and carbon filters until it went away. Might have been work on the city supply kicking up debris.

Whenever I need to find Cherany I just look for the the most brightly colored outfit in the crowd

Nice! Got quite the collection going there.

I resealed my acrylic refugium that way and it has been fine - just in case you don’t want to start over.

MP10 wet side not staying put!
albertareef replied to Optimusprime3605's topic in General Discussion
I think they assume you would need/want the bigger one for a larger (thicker material) tank but they clearly didn’t take raffle winning into account. I think you can get larger magnets for the gyre but not sure about the MPs. -
I opened this topic thinking “I wonder what this is about”.... and it’s exactly what it says it is! Maybe I’m just getting too jaded and suspicious these days love the spirit here - thanks!

albertareef replied to Emerald525's topic in Meetings and Events
We missed you Jorge! Sorry you weren't able to attend in person. If you get a chance to meet/talk to Laura in the future you should definitely try and take it - very interesting, insightful and dedicated person. -
Wishing For A Peristaltic Pump For the Calcium Reactor
albertareef replied to TheClark's topic in General Discussion
Interestingly, I think this is very close to the parameters I am running right now as well. Looking forward, however, I only have the ability to control off of pH in 0.1 increments which might not be quite granular enough to fine tune - hence thinking about testing out one of these setups to give a bit more flexibility. Currently holding at 8.3-8.6 KH but as the corals grow (fingers crossed)...- 54 replies

Wishing For A Peristaltic Pump For the Calcium Reactor

Looking pretty promising! Meant to talk to you about these at the fragfest but never got a chance. What kind of flow rate are you running now?- 54 replies

I could see this working at some level but at 13 feet into the pipe? Hmm. I guess if you had a wedge at the end of an equally long pole - might need a fiber optic setup or something in order to get it lined up properly from the top (perhaps attached to the same pole as the wedge?). Might be hard to control at that length but at least it doesn't have to be at a precise location. I hope we eventually get the lowdown on what this is for - having a hard time envisioning the purpose
