  1. At the party but there won’t be a tank (for obvious reasons). You going to make it?
  2. Rock work looks really sharp from that angle!
  3. Ah - I was thinking hogfish based on the body type but haven’t seen that one before.
  4. I was wondering about that myself. Where’s @Flashy Fins when you need her?
  5. Wish I had room for that colony but alas. Hope someone snags it.
  6. ...and then realized that I don't get reception in this building. Hey Pete, as long as the regulator has a functional solenoid and we are talking a 5# CO2 bottle I will gladly take it - that will give me a backup for everything. Sorry I don't have cell reception right now
  7. Good to hear - glad it's getting re-homed. BTW - do you have any info on that Ca-reatctor setup? I could possibly use a spare. Thanks!
  8. Cool! I will be curious to see how this turns out. I have plenty of Java fern if you decide you want to try some. BTW - I love that there is such a thing as "Shrimp Mart".
  9. I think you should run an experiment to see how being in my tank affects their coloration 😁
  10. I see a lonely one up in the corner of that frag tank! Maybe it has your name on it?
  11. Haha - yes, I do have a basement but you've seen it! Wouldn't want to try and wrestle a 180 glass tank down there anyway. I can barely afford to keep my 120 going so no way I'm adding a 180... I just really like the dimensions on these and am jealous of Andrews tank I'm sure someone will give it a good home. GLWS!
  12. You are just going to hold this for me until I find a place to put it right? J/k - I would have to add a wing to the house or something since I don't even have a garage.
  13. Nice looking house - GLWS! Glad to hear the move went well and you managed to get the tanks relocated without any meltdowns... no small task.
  14. I would second that - they have had some really nice mini-colonies of SPS and some sweet LPS as well.
  15. Oh man... you keep tempting me with stuff I have no room for!
  16. Not sure if anyone noticed this or not but there was an announcement today regarding a new building planned for the Marine Studies Initiative center at the Hatfield location in Newport. Sounds like pretty exciting stuff so will be curious to hear more about the plans. http://www.oregonlive.com/education/index.ssf/2017/11/oregon_state_gives_first_glimp.html#incart_river_home
  17. Thanks for sharing Roy. The growth habit on that looks interesting and it is a nice color as well.
  18. Good synopsis of the challenges and limitations of any comparison that does not involve measurement of actual nutrient export. I will be curious to see if someone (not the point of this thread I realize) actually invests the time to set this experiment up in a well controlled manner. The BRS series on the effects of chaeto on nutrient load were at least an interesting start down this road but didn't delve into these differing technologies and were (originally) focused on the impact of different lighting sources.
  19. Tanks looks great! Looks like you have had a very successful year of reef keeping - gives Ryan something to shoot for 😁
  20. Welcome! Looks like you have things pretty well thought out and are off to a good start. Glad you were able to snag the Apex and EB8s - that should likely pay off for you in the long run. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Good luck!
  21. Then you just get a bigger tank and start the process over again right? Looking good Ryan!
  22. Nice finds Roy. Both those shops have been getting in some really nice pieces lately - glad some folk on here are taking advantage!
