  1. Funny - I had just noticed this as well. Eyesight ain't what it used to be.
  2. Those SPS frags are looking quite happy. You managed to score some nice ones as well - congrats!
  3. Hey Karen - were you picking this up for TFT? If so, you want me to get it from Holly and keep it with the other tank? Might makes sense to have those in one place if the plan is to use them together. Let me know.... @kknight
  4. Hadn’t noticed but that is sweet.
  5. Sigh. So jealous- I don’t even have a garage to start with. Looks like a nice layout Jeremy!
  6. I was thinking of you when I saw this... you need another DIY project right?
  7. That reminds me I was going to look that up! This is the product I tried and worked great for me (https://www.marinedepot.com/AZ_NO3_Nitrate_Eliminator_240mL_Specialty_Additives_Supplements-AZ_NO3-CP2151-FIADSA-vi.html?utm_source=mdcsegooglebase2&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=mdcsegooglebase2&utm_content=CMFSSWSKU-CP2151&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn9aAv9LJ2QIVDpFpCh01TwVGEAQYBCABEgLHCfD_BwE) Was running about 20PPM (primarily due to a large algae die-off I believe), started to try this and by the time I ramped up to the recommended dosage nitrates were already on their way down. Ramped back down and have been at less than 0.25 ever since (at least a couple of months now). No noticeable side effects that I saw in my tank (primarily SPS with some LPS, fish, inverts). Hey @Oregonic let me know if you have any questions.
  8. Actually surprised they aren’t more expensive.
  9. Sounds promising! Will be interesting to know what one needs to do re calibration - especially with a broad spectrum of elements. Probably have some pre-mixed samples available to facilitate this.
  10. Crazy. Maybe you should set up a new display and start raising BTAs in this one Seems like you have found the magic formula (whether you meant to or not).
  11. The peppermint shrimp in my tank seem to keep the aptasia at bay. I know some have come in as hitch hikers but never stick around long with the shrimp around. They seem to find enough other things to eat when aptasia aren’t available and are pretty unobtrusive otherwise. Usually readily available as well. Mine survive even with a tank full of wrasses so would probably do fine as long as you don’t have anything too aggressive.
  12. I like the sound of these little guys. Has anyone around here had them in stock before? Would be interested in “test driving” one for hair algae control.
  13. Interesting thought! I know Jeff at Cuttlefish has one that has survived for quite a while but don’t think it has been that long. Pretty impressive 👍
  14. Glad you scored some nice specimens! Give me a shout next time you find your way down... maybe you can find a couple things in the tank to take back with you.
  15. Well - keep your fingers crossed he stays that way!
  16. It's just luring you into a false sense of security... until it's ready!
  17. Glad you found that - was trying to remember where it was as I recall it having some good suggestions.
  18. Always a blast to help out for these sales. Great chance to catch up with some of the regulars and meet some new reefers! Also fun to see how Holly’s amazing system is doing and come away with some killer frags. Thanks for putting on another great sale - maybe see you tomorrow.
  19. Nice! We will need a detailed report in the RV thread 😀
  20. Back away from the chalices Jeremy 😑 (I actually asked the same question)
  21. O-live has a new article up with a lot more information about the plans for the Hatfield and the Marine Science Initiative... pretty exciting stuff. http://www.oregonlive.com/education/index.ssf/2018/02/with_new_building_oregon_state.html#incart_target2box_default_#incart_target2box_targeted_
  22. I was going to check in and see if Holly needed help bagging but I'm thinking security might be a higher priority.
  23. Nice work Cody! Love the built in redundancy on the RODI controls.
