Hello all. I have a used but great working dual 400 watt PFO metal halide ballast that I am not in need of and would like to sell. It is the standard dual ballast not the HQI. With moguls and german pro reflectors and some nice but used for a while 20K XM bulbs for $200 Ballast by itself without reflectors or moguls for $120. Also I am willing to trade for dual 250w PFO ballast(HQI or Standard), nice CO2 bottle, nice rated for 300-500g protein skimmer, corals that may strike my interest, or a combination of cash and any of the previous. You did the right thing and any of us will tell you that it means alot for the hobby and the animal. I would have done the same thing. Or I would have tried this... I agree with plan C. Sell him an upgrade, then the mandarin in a few months. Also, starting to stock pods is a really great idea for those fish stores who can do so. I know I have talked to dozens of people who wish they could buy pods locally. Garrett

Definately make sure that you put as much really good live rock in there as you can. The more you put in the faster things will go. Also good live sand will help to seed your dry sand and really speed stuff up. Getting some life in there will help as well. I wouldn't hesitate at all with adding a few less sensative pieces of your cleanup crew at the beginning of the second week. This will help keep some of that detrius and diatom algae down while your tank gets where it needs to be. With enough live rock and live sand, you really don't have to wait all that long. Obviously the more the marrier here, but to get a few fish in there actually will help things out alot. Just make sure they are hardy, less expensive fish that you wont mind being in there for years. A lawnmower blenny would be one of my first picks as it is part of your cleanup crew anyway. Garrett

Jody, I really need to come and see what you have rolling down there! I have heard from several fellow reefers that you have some pretty nice stuff! Also, I am in total agreeance with you on this. Vendors do now have the "exlpicit" right, though I feel they have always had the right to buy from the classifieds. There really isn't anyone that can argue against that and still claim that they want a fare and just club. I think that a few fellow hobbiests and I might get together sometime soon and make the treck down your way. I will toss you a pm before we carpool down. I am excited to check out your setup!
