  1. No worries Newschool. The unit is now sold. Thanks for all of your interest guys. I will repost if anything changes or the deal falls through. Garrett
  2. Beautiful anemone! I would just let it do whatever it wants to
  3. That is the problem with this hobby! Just too hard to decide when there is so much beauty.
  4. I am excited to see your new tank! Let me know when a good time is for me to drop by this week. I will be gone Friday through Monday but free mostly before that. Garrett
  5. Erik it was great to meet you and it looks like the zoas are doing quite well thus far! I picked up some more sweet stuff today that I will have to show you some time. As for the firearms... This along with my wife are a very close second and third to reef keeping. Actually wanted to get some shooting in this week but can't find any ammo this week to get that done so I figured I would spend my range money on a few corals this week! Win Win. Jason hijack away. As long as it is talk about guns or coral I am in! Garrett
  6. Same here. If you want to trade I have a few zoas that you might like. Garrett
  7. I would recommend as much surface area as possible and about a 5-6" depth. Also like mentioned about make sure you have lots of sand sifting and stiring critters. I am probably going to use my 50g tub as a RDSB for my system. It is about 18" wide by 26" long and I will use a depth of right around 5" maybe a hair less. Along with macro algae, good live rock, occasional carbon and GFO, and a good skimmer there really isn't a chance for much of any nutrient build up. Die nitrates and phosphates! DIE!
  8. That is pretty f'd up. Oh look merchildren. Oh nevermind, just the usual casualties. Bad juju
  9. This can also happen during the initial cycle of a new system. Bacteria and diatoms build up rapidly converting the CO2 in your water column to micro bubbles of oxygen. If you don't notice a sort of slime algae accumulate than this is likely what is happening. It can also happen after a large water change or if you change the salinity or temperature or expose your tank to an unusually high amount of nutrients such as a large fish or a few fish added at once. Watch it over the next week or so and if it doesn't appear to stop or slow down than you likely have some cyano bacteria build up but if it goes away than you are probably experiencing something very normal. Garrett
  10. Send me a PM with your number and I will call you. Garrett
  11. How about 2 frags of each of them? That should be about 10-15 polyps of each. The second frag pic are of some pretty sweet purple zoas with greenish yellow circles around the mouth and and greenish yellow skirts. The first ones look pretty darn close to the colony pictured.
  12. One of the colonies(one of my favs right now) Actual frags: Most frags are around 5-7 polyps. Pics are pretty dark as I have no real control on my point and shoot but the colors are pretty nice in real life. PM me if interested. Thanks, Garrett
  13. I wouldn't mind trading for some of my zoas. Let me know, though you may already have what I have. Garrett
  14. Thanks! Its a pretty sweet fixture. I bought it because it is so sleak and compact with all of the components internal. I guess thats why they have a heafty price tag. If it doesn't sell here I may just throw it up on RC. Not too sure. Garrett
  15. Bump. Also willing to trade for a good amount of live rock.
  16. Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the club! This is a great place to interact, share info, and learn. Garrett
  17. I know what would look really good above it......an Aquamedic light fixture (whistle) LOL that is very true! I will keep you updated.
  18. Very nice looking thus far. Much better height than before. I am loving it! Garrett
  19. Nice pics! I love the red planet. I will have to get me some of that! I love sea apples. I will probably keep one in my next display tank when I finally get one lol. Garrett
  20. Looks like a goner to me(sad) Good thing that stuff can be had for fairly inexpensive. I would try scrubbing it with a toothbrush and removing its waste. Glad to hear that everything else is doing well. Garrett
  21. Nah, I would just pop the end off, shrink wrap the area damaged then pop a new end on. No need to waste a good pump unless its unfixable which this isn't. Just what I would do, but I am kinda a cheap ars Garrett
  22. Awesome stuff! Good to know that I can get a shirt or hat now
  23. Up for grabs is Aqua Medic Aquastarlight Future 2 x 250W + Moonlight I have decided that I need to go with retrofit lighting over my prop system where I had intended to use this. The fixture is used and I purchased it about a month ago on ebay. It seems to be in great condition and just needs replacement bulbs as the ones that came with it were definately done. This is a very modern and well built fixture from Germany. It was imported by its original owner who wanted a sleak, all inclusive fixture. The fixture has the ballasts built in and comes with hanging cables so that you can literally suspend it right above your tank without having a canopy. You could also place it inside a canopy if you like. I would like to sell this so that I can purchase a couple of 250w ballasts, reflectors, moguls, and bulbs to retrofit over my tanks. If somone has a couple/few 250w ballasts, reflectors, moguls, bulbs, etc. that they would like to trade for a nice sleak fixture, send me a pm and we can discuss. This thing retails for around $700 but does not come with bulbs and was used for about 1.5 years. I am looking to get $300 for the fixture and hanging kit or a similar retrofit setup.
