  2. If it helps, I have glass hole saws for both 1" and 1.5" bulkheads now. I like Miles idea though with enough flow in the tank, you should be able to distribute the majority of the water around the tank fairly quickly resulting in the overflow gathering mostly old tank water even if you decide to do dual returns. A single return just limits the flow that you intend on using as movement on one side of the tank but with enough flow from powerheads and such, it really wont make too much of a difference. That probably could have been worded better lol.
  3. Thanks guys! It was good to have you guys over. You are some of the first to see the new system. Today I am working on getting some of the stuff moved over to the new system. It is going to take some time before I can get everything moved over. Yesterday I got one of the tanks stock and rock moved and everything seems even happier than it was at the old place as of this morning! Hopefully I will be able to get an order going sometime in the next week or so.
  4. Sounds like it is coming along nicely! I left you a message on Friday eve as well. Moving livestock over to the new place throughout the day so I should be at the tanks much of the day. Grats on finally getting this thing all setup! This is going to be one heck of a system when up and running!
  5. +1. Small maximas really do best on the rockwork IME.
  6. Sounds good. I am sure Patrick will be able to take care of you Hit me up when you want to swign down some time.
  7. I am pretty sure that if you made the drive down to Salem, someone could take care of you Saturday would probably be best but hit me up if interested.
  8. I have many run ins with them every week. I didn't use to have a problem with their little spines but now I seem to get just a bit itchy when some of the bigger ones hit more sensitive skin on my hands. The tops of my pinky and ring finger seem to be the most common target and the nail cuticals are the most anoying. The big ones are the ones with the most irritation but overall they still aren't really a big deal for me. I usually can just wipe the bristles right off with a dry towel. I did have a nasty expience once with a half inch thick solid red one though. Kind of a stingy burn more than pain but it did last for a couple of hours and the bristles were much bigger than on standard bristleworms. Also watch out for the very large grey ones. They can have larger, nastier bristles as well.
  9. If you get a chance to head down sometime, I have a nice variety of inverts and sand bed cleaners in right now. The new system is being plumbed right now but the old system is still kickin for the time being. Feel free to hit me up if interested Thanks for the recommendation Kim. You and Beth are gonna have to come check out the new system once it's done. It's coming along nicely and has alot more tanks!
  10. +3 for Garrett! He has 2 kinds in now and usually has 3 or 4 kinds Thanks for the shout out homies!
  11. Anyone need a tiger? or perhaps a unicorn? Thanks for the business and good reef chat my friends!
  12. Looks just like a baby green Ricordia yuma.
  13. I would love to trade you out for your anemone Problem is that you would have to take that long jurney down here so that you could browse the tanks for what you want.
  14. That's awesome! I have always had excellent luck with sea apples. They are an awesome critter with great coloration and patterning. It is kind of funny how freaked out people get about them. They are great!
  15. I just got most of the parts I needed to get the plumbing going on the new system. The old system is still fully up and running and has lots of inverts and corals though fish stock is kind of lower than usual. The new system is going to be pretty cool but it's taking me a few to get things setup the way I want them. Cross members, drywall, paint, garage floor sealed and painted with a non slip grit paint, all electrical finished, huge RO/DI installed, new cabinets and racks in place, 2x new 100g sumps aquired, 12-14 new tanks ready for setup and plumbing, and dry goods starting to ramp up. Lots of fun stuff to come shortly Feel free to call or text if you want to swing by the old place and pick up some critters or anything else. I have a huge variety and number of inverts and clean up crew items as well as lots of corals and food. 503-580-5716
  16. Congratulations Bob and Laurie! I will have to stop by soon and check out the shop and introduce myself. I have always enjoyed Jasons shop and am really happy to see that it will be continued and expanded!
  17. Michael has some great advice. I definatley recommend setting up some kind of temp. holding tank at the new place before the move. It makes things way easier and you won't have to worry about all the loss. I would also like to know what area of Salem you are moving too! Good to see another reefer moving to our area. Once you get all moved in and situated, you will have to come checkout the shop Good luck!!!
  18. Hit me up whenever you want to head out today. I should be available all day. Just busy unpacking and running erands
  19. Thanks for making the trip down! Hope everything is doing well!
  20. Thanks to both you and John for heading up! That wrasse was so hot, I was half tempted to keep it for myself lol. Glad to hear that heblikes his new home! Garrett John, your car was way too bad ars!
  21. Frank, if you decide to go for a fish that may eat the Mojanos, I would try the file fish. They are way easier to remove than the butterflies and in my experience the aiptasia eating variety never messed with any corals or larger inverts. Mine would pick at small inverts like hermits and small snails. This may be a contradictory sp. to your bryopsis problem if it eats the critters that eat the algae but maybe you could attack them in an order.
