  1. IF your ever in the area I have a ton of it. Anyone else is welcome to it as well, only so much at a time though people, you just have to come and pick it up. If you can't find it locally I'll ship you some, cost me about $10 to ship, I'll ship, you can send me a check. Cool?
  2. I might have to stop by tomorrow just for fun, we'll see
  3. I would like the option to be able to pump my own. I don't care if other people want it pumped for them, but the wait for someone to come over and do something I have done a thousand times (grew up in Cali) and started doing when I was six, is just to much to bare sometimes. I really don't get the reasoning behind the law. JMO
  4. On the smaller eheims I use a slightly smaller vinyl hose and then heat the hose with a lighter, then push it onto the eheim while it's still hot and mushy. Works well, but you do have to cut the hose off. Been running my eheim like this for at least 6 months, maybe longer. I also run my eheim in sump. Very nice pump. HTH
  5. For those who are interested in frag party's and trading, this might be helpful. No time like the present. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8323
  6. Amanda I totally agree with your enthusiasm, but those empty tables your reffering to, were empty because local business, local manufactor's, and local frag farmers were not interested in participating. The options were open, the notifactions were made in plenty of time, the advertisements were out, they just weren't interested. IMHO a more local and less funded event would start out drawing less involvement, not more. I could be wrong. It's kind of one of those "If you build it they will come" philosophy's in my mind.
  7. Completely agree. Maybe make it a meeting day, or part of one of the meeting. Set it up in advance so people have time to grow stuff, frag it, mount it, let it heal, and then bring it to the event. I think that would work. JMO
  8. So I remember the first "Reef a Palooza", was living down there at the time. Just a bunch of hobbyists at a guys house for a BBQ and like 40 coolers filled with food and frags. I think it would be cool to start something like this, but let's try to be realistic with where we are at as a club. The BBQ last week would have been the perfect time, everyone just brings the frags they have, when interest was gauged on the boards no one was really interested. IMO instead of trying to start out huge to legitimize ourselves, let's accept who we are as a club and just try to do a local get together, and people can bring frags as they like. If it gets huge great, if not then that is fine too. The market in Southern California is very different then it is here. There is a lot more money in the hobby there, and many more hobbyists. The population difference in itself is amazing. They draw from an area 10x+ or so larger then ours. There events are going to be bigger. Just because we can't be them does not mean we can't be us. IMO it would be better if we started small and see what it builds into, then trying to compete or redefine anything in this industry. Even Reef a Palooza started in a backyard. JMO
  9. For zoa's you can just dip them in fresh water for 5 or ten minutes. Iodine like Lugol's works too.
  10. It was a fun day, nice to meet so many of you.
  11. Sean, you gonna be at the picnic?
  12. Dude I would totally take you up on it, but I live like a mile from you so that would just make it weird.
  13. I use hose a bit smaller then the barb fitting and heat the hose so it slips over, then I don't use a clamp at all. There is no way to pull the hose off, ever, you have to cut it. Works for what I do. I used to use the type of clamp you would use on a garden hose, plastic clamp with two screws, but I just kinda got lazy and really don't see the need now. JMO
  14. I like hose. Only clean hose though, those dirty hose can cause problems. Pipe actually gets gunky and has build up. If you've ever torn down a tank that has been running for awhile you know what I'm talking about. I try to clean my hoses every so often and replace them completely every couple of years. JMO
  15. Yup your fined a salfin, please send it to my address. If you could send a tank that will hold it also that would be awesome. I love those fish. Back to the search for a naso for Bill.
