  1. Ok, I'm game.

If i can get them back eventually that would be nice but no biggie.

I can donate a blueline external pump and a no-name venturi skimmer as well as some more vho ballasts. you would need a seperate pump for the skimmer but it should be able to keep up with the skimming needs i also have a single sheet of reflector you can use. let me know. i also have a 70w MH e-ballast but no pendant or bulb.

  2. ok fine... here is a shot of me in my swimming pool. there is a $5 charge for each fat joke and any reference to "sea cow" or manitee will have a 10% surcharge :D... on a side note, the corraline algae is now cleaned off.

  3. I have never done baffles in a sump before. there are easier methods. just put a 90 degree pvc elbow on the intake of your return pump. then just point it down with 1" clearance off the bottom. i never had bubble problems and it saved more room in my sump.

  4. Nah, it is hard enough to keep a regular display clean and going without having to worry about a low flow crap catch basin... especially when you can solve the whole problem by getting a larger skimmer instead. I have no desire to keep a refugium. they are old school and nowhere near as neat and efficient as a good sized skimmer.

keep in mind.... the longer the crap stays in the tank the more phos it produces. even if you have a full tank of macro, it will still die and rot and your phos will increase. the original purpose of a refugium was to remove these pollutants... why wouldn't you go with a more effecient system by using a skimmer?
