pledosophy
I'll be moving in the next two weeks so perfect time to redo stuff. I am looking at replaing my quiet one 4000hh with a new and quieter pump. Right now the http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_AquariumPage~PageAlias~pumps_poseidon.html is the best choice I have found. For that price it might be better to go with a Vortech MP20. I am looking for durability and quiet. Any help?
mjbecker
That is a very quiet pump when i pluged mine in I did not think it was working because it was so quiet. But it will rise the temp about 5 degrees
andy
I'm not sure how Marine Depot can label the pump as "highly energy efficient" when they also warn about the high levels of heat it generates. It appears to be durable and quiet, but not terribly efficient. Also, the listing on the big one (PS4) says that it's got hose barb connections rather than MPT; that'd be a deal-breaker for me. Krux
experience with 4 of these... they all ran flawlessly, but as stated above they did add a bit more heat than some of the other pumps i've used... average 4-5 degrees... if you don't need quite that much flow consider an eheim 1262 as well
