Jay
Who does custom glass tanks here in portland? Glass tanks are much heavier then acrylic right? Wonder if my stand would be ok or need braceing? Jay
wanareef
Check on the PSAS site, there's a local to Seattle glass builder up there, if I remember right. Don't know of any in Portland

darrellw
Wonder if my stand would be ok or need braceing? Yes, a glass tank is going to be heavier than an acrylic of the same size, but the tank material is just a small fraction of the total weight (most of that being the water), so unless your stand is on the hairy edge of failure already, it wouldn't worry about the stand. -Darrell
CA2OR
+1 on weight difference. I tested my stand with myself and a few of my neighbors standing on it. Together we weighed almost 1000lbs so I felt secure with the 36g going on it. Maybe you could do something similiar.

Jay
A custom size tank is expensive. I need a center overflow as its a walk around tank being my room devider between the liveingroom and dinningroom. I need to look at my moneys a little closer. I may sell off a couple nitro RC airplanes to get it. Jay
