Quigley
Any one have any experience with mangrove substrate? I like the idea of the reef mud because it seems to be their natural substrate but it is expensive and I want to make sure the results would justify the expense. ThePremiumAquarium
Mangroves can generally be grown in whatever substrate you like. I have grown them free floating with now substrate, just the water column. I have also grown them in fine sand as well as heavier aragonite. They seem to do well after a few weeks in the stystem and love magnesium, iron, and iodine from my experience.
