wanareef
Well it's still here. That tan paper is just the protective layer and will come off. The paper is on the bottom and it's 3/8" acrylic. This is the part that you have to be careful of so as not to scratch it too bad, maybe use a nice soft towel to store it in. We'll meet up one of these days. CA2OR
that looks cool. Is the hook wide enough to fit around the lip on the top of the tank?
wanareef
That curve is about 1 1/2", if not I can cut it off near the top end
fishmanmike01
Eric what are you using this for?
CA2OR
Taking pic's from the top of the tank Mike. I am sooner or later going to get an underwater enclosure for my cam but this until then.
fishmanmike01
I thought you were going to put your corals in it to take pics.
CA2OR
Why is that what others do? I use them to break the water surface to allow good viewing of the corals.
C0lin
Someone should set up an aquarium web cam for the front page.
CA2OR
Someone should set up an aquarium web cam for the front page. Yeah no kidding. That would be pretty cool. Might cause the site to lag though.
C0lin
Yeah no kidding. That would be pretty cool. Might cause the site to lag though. Maybe. Depends on how you set it up and the quality of the cam. It would be cool to just full screen some kick *** tank and watch it from the couch. If I had a big enough monitor, I could just avoid all the headaches and live vicariously through someone else

I don't know about you, but I got a tank because of seeing all the other peoples tanks. Every time I see another tank, I want more stuff... vanz
I don't quite understand how that works...if you hang it inside the tank...wouldn't it fill with water? I thought photoboxes/view boxes were meant to float on the surface? Can you show how yours work? I'm curious.
CA2OR
Hey Vans, I haven't picked it up yet, but my advice would be to hit up Wanareef. he is the one who made it and can probably answer your questions. As far as it filling up with water, I would assume it is sealed so you would have to completely submerge it to get that to happen.
vanz
I think I get it...the hanging part is just to hang it when not in use right?
CA2OR
I would assume you are correct.
pledosophy
I use them to break the water surface to allow good viewing of the corals. Ever thought of just turning off the pumps for a few minutes? DOH! The easiest solution is usually a good one.
CA2OR
Actually I did not think of that
wanareef
The hook part is to keep the box steady by resting on the edge, if it's a glass tank then it'll just hook on to the the edge of the AGA and you can just position the box to where you want without it filling up with water and the camera.
