USCG CWO
Does anyone out there have the ability to drill a glass aquarium? I'll treat to the beverage of your choice. Shane
andy
I need to do one too, maybe we should have a drill-a-thon.
USCG CWO
Andy, Do you have the ridiculously expensive hole saw required to do this. If so I'll swing by for a drillathon, and I'll bring the beverages. Shane
Michael7979
Ask garrettm85 where he got his drill bits, (ebay I think but not sure). It just takes time and it really isn't that tough.
ThePremiumAquarium
Ebay is where i picked mine up. They work great, just make sure to follow the instructions carefully and remember that the slower, generally the better. I think I paid $15 or $20 for each of mine. spectra
What size are you guys looking for? Shane you saw my tank and I drilled both of the holes in it. I have 3 dif size holesaws and can help you guys out if needed. Plus adult beverages are always welcome(clap)
andy
No glass hole saws here, but if Scott has some I can bring some beer
USCG CWO
Scott I'm looking to connect two 10 gals in tandem to act as a sump and fuge. So I'm thinking 1 or 1 1/2in bulkheads which I think requires a 1 3/4" or 2 3/8" Hole. Andy I'll bring beer too. Shane
andy
Sounds good to me, when's a good time?
spectra
Well let me know I have a 1 3/16 a 1 3/4 and also a 2 3/8 so I think I have you covered;) Also remember a 10 gallon tank is thin so might break if not carefull.
Barelycuda
I have a couple of 1-3/4" hole saws here for 1" bulkheads. If you are only drilling 10g tanks piece of cake. I have drilled 45+ in the last 6 months and have only cracked a few Dave
USCG CWO
I'm up for whenever. Scott I am assuming we'll be doing this at your place since it is your equipment. How does this weekend sound? Andy how big is your tank? Do we need to come to you or can I help carry it over? I have a truck if that helps. andy
Mine is a 30, so pretty portable. Thanks for the offer though -- extra beer for you
Nyles
Ya just be careful with 10 gal, I drilled mine and got all setup, smacked the bulkhead not hard but from a 5" drop and the tank exploded while running. Just be careful, I replaced with plastic tub and drilled that.
jayR
I've got some hole saws for 1" & 3/4" BH. You can bring over & drill yourself. I can show you how, just don't wanna break you tank. LMK
