When you are trying to color them up, do you just move them lower, or totally into the shade, or?

I have a big favia that was a nice green when I got it, but now the margins are mostly pink/brown. The mouths are nice and bright (grn). Anyway, I moved it lower in the tank to see if that would help. I think it's better than it was, but it might be my wishful thinking. I am considering moving it under a shady spot to see if that helps... Any thoughts?
