SnowboardKid26
Hey I'm gonna order a new skimmer for my nano, im thinking either a Aqua C remora nano, or a CPR bakpak 2R. Anyone know that pros or cons with either? Thanks SBK
nu2reef-n
I've owned a Aqua-c remora pro. It was a great skimmer for what it was.

DChemist
a good rep or a bad rep? I have read alot of bad things about the remoras... anyone know about the CPR? I've got a CPR bak pak 2R... It works fine- I haven't used any other skimmer so I really can't say it works better or worse than something else.

rmhuntley
If you're going to have a sump for your nano, I"d go with the Tunze nano skimmer, but for a good HOB, I"d use the remora
SnowboardKid26
i decided to build a sump/fuge and I ordered to Tunze nano. Thanks for the input guys.. It came really highly recommended on RC, plus a friend of mine has one and I saw it today... talk about kickin chicken.... really good dry foam. H20cooled
You will be much happier with the Tunze then you would have been with the Remora. I had one for 2 yrs on my 30G tank and it was never pulling out much. I switched to a Tunze and it pulled out more junk in 2 weeks then my Remora did in 2 yrs. They are very good skimmers and well worth the $$$. Rich
Randy-S
were are you getting the tunze at? got a link?
R-3
Hey Rich can you put up a pic with that skimmer in action? I might do this on my 37 because of limited space. I know we talked about it at the meeting, but I would just like to see one up close. Later Ryan
R-3
Nevermind Rich I just found your old thread. I thought you had posted about it but wasnt sure if it was on the old site. Later Ryan
R-3
Ahh so yours is different from the nano one. I wonder how they compare and if they still use the "hydrofoamer" thingy. Hmmm.. I guess Im going to have to do some research. I like the compact size of each model though. Later Ryan

SnowboardKid26
Theres a guy here in bend that runs a maintanance/dry goods company and I got it from him. It cost me 130 bucks and it will be here tommorow. I'm really excited to see the difference between that and my seaclown thats currently running
H20cooled
Yep the 9005, if I had to do it over again I would have bought the 9010, its basicly the 9005 but with a larger collection cup and the sump kit. But it wouldn't have worked in my 30g because of the larger cup. Rich
SnowboardKid26
Your really happy with that Skimmer huh Rich? I need something that skims REALLY hard since I have such a small volume and keep SPS.
H20cooled
I do, there is just so much mis-information out there regarding skimmers, people go out and spend a hundreds of dollars on skimmer only to find out that it only works so so on there setup. I did a lot of research on skimmers when I first got into this hobby and the Aqua C was very reccomended, so I bought it. But I was never happy with the amount it pulled out, I tried several different mods and nothing made any difference. So, when I ran into a thread on RC regarding the Tunze skimmers and then I saw the price wasn't that much I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed at all. I do think they are rated a little high on the volume they will support though, but I highly believe in overskimming. Rich
