Saltfishlover
Have had these for almost two weeks and never see them eat. They don't seem skinny, but tonight I found one in the clutches of my banded shrimp. It was released and missing just his tail :). No signed of disease. I've tried feeding flake, pellets, misis, brine, marine cuisine..nothing. The spot everything out.. any help or ideas to get them better? Blue Z Reef
Do you supplement the frozen food with garlic? Sometimes helps. In the past mine always ate anything I put it, but definitely slower eater than some of the more aggressive eating fish like tangs and damsels. Saltfishlover
No i have not tried that. I fed shrimp with benepet reef food tonight. They showed a bitore interest but still spit them out
obrien.david.j
Any chance you have two males, and both are holding clutches of eggs? Watch their mouths carefully, when they open even slightly, see if you can see an egg ball. Just an option.
Saltfishlover
I don't think so. They seem to pull food in and spit it out right away. Then never do it again. Today thought, the shrimp had him as breakfast 😞

shaywood
We love cardinals, but they never do well. Seem to survive for a while, then disappear.
Lazyreefer
My cardinals will eat right out of the pipette try putting some food on other end of tank to draw aggressive eaters then using one to put food right in front of their face until they realize it comes out of there and spark their hunger hopefully. If you don’t use fish frenzy I would maybe recommend atleast trying it to get them to feed it has selcon soaked in which I’ve found when food is soaked in selcon it’s a stimulant for my fish to eat.
Lifer
I started mine on live black worms. Now they eat anything. The live foods works well for getting picky eaters started.
