TheClark
I have plenty of good 24v adapters, so I opted not to spend 30 dollars on one for the trident. Sadly, looking at their jack, it looks proprietary. True? I don't think APEX has cornered the market on 24v power, kinda frustrating... Trident is offline Thanks! SuncrestReef
Be sure it's 24v with 36w output. They make different 24v adapters for the PMUP and a higher output one that works with DOS/Trident/1Link.
TheClark
Ya, thanks @SuncrestReef Know of any non proprietary versons? I cannot get behind spending 30 bucks for a 10 dollar power supply with a different jack. Frustrating!
SuncrestReef
I know I saw something a while back in the Neptune Community Forums about generic adapters. Something about barrel size and polarity, but I can't find that post. Try searching there and I'm sure you'll find it.
cjmdh
This one? From R2R: The brick itself is listed as 24v 1.5a. The barrel jack is 3.76mm OD, positive polarity. If you take that power brick to any electronics supply store worth their salt they'll probably carry it.
SuncrestReef
Yes, that looks correct! Do you have an old adapter to compare against? Or were you using a 1Link cable instead?
TheClark
This looks encouraging guys, thanks! I have a bunch of 24v power supplies. I can check the polarity, but the od is definitely wrong on mine. Maybe I can track one down on amazon now...
TheClark
Pretty tough to find one (for me) with the right sized jack. The power requirements were no big deal, just that odd sized and shaped jack. I sucked it up and ordered one for 30.

Kind of sounds like they may have picked an odd size jack just for this reason... wouldn't surprise me. At least you know it should work! Cannot wait to get it up and running!

I don't think so, thanks for asking. ====Begin Rant==== I have a large APEX install, including 5 eb8s, but bought it all way, way before 1 link ports existed. To run the Trident, I bought a standalone 'new' apex head unit. WIth the price of the EB832 and even a 1link module (250 and 150, seriously?), I definitely don't plan on investing anymore. Home automation is catching up, and more open and generic, and competitive in every way. ====End Rant==== Super glad for the trident, sorry to see where the pricing is headed on the other current gen apex components.
SuncrestReef
Oh, I assumed you had the EB832. Makes sense.

Still waiting on it LOL. I am sure it will be a distant memory when the awesomeness of the trident is unleashed on me... 1
