pdxmonkeyboy
Anyone try this? Dumped about 4 gallons on the tomatoes then gave them a good watering to leach some of the salt away. My garden smells AMAZING now!!! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
PowderBlue
I’ve dumped it in my wife’s hanging baskets for years and they grow like weeds [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SuncrestReef
It would be interesting to measure how much salt is actually in the skimmate. It probably varies based on how "wet" it is, or if it's solid sludge. My problem is that my dog would want to roll in the garden. That's what he does every time we go to the coast and he wallows in the biggest pile of washed up seaweed and dead crabs. It usually takes 3 baths to get rid of that smell...🤢
Mandinga
Last time I measured my skimmate was pretty much the same salinity as my tank. I used to dump sludge skimmate in in all my raised garden beds and it definitely provided an organic compound boost to the gardens! A little Salt to my knowledge doesn’t harm the vegetation at all. May want to fact check that!
albertareef
I think the smell alone would discourage me from trying this but I bet it would make the neighborhood dogs and cats happy!
