Vance164
I am curious what everyone is using to remove detritus from their rock work. I've used a Turkey baster but it wasn't very strong. I am thinking maybe a large syringe would be better.
CrazyInside
I use a pump. Just stick a decent size pump in the tank with tubing connected and blast away. Pretty mucks takes everything off the rocks and you don’t have to keep continuesly squeezing something. householdofpayne
I have a long feeder that looks like a turkey baster kind of. I just use that to blast before a waterchange. #multipurpose
lewisriverfisherman
I just use my Turkey baster but I only have a 20gal nuvo so it only takes me a couple squeeze and I'm done
pdxmonkeyboy
seriously though, I just grab my gyre off the side of the tank, turn in on full blast and wave it over the rocks.

Yep a simple power head would do the job
Vance164
Thank you everyone for your input the pump idea seems neat. Julian's thing had my attention but seems pricey for what it is. I guess I'll just head in down to the Honda shop and pick up a pressure washer per pdxmonkeyboy's reccomendation I've been needing one anyhow 🤣🤣🤣 1

Pennywise
I tightened a zip tie to my baster to seal the ball to the tube. I can get a nice blast without it blowing out the top.

InLikeFlynn
When I had my 5ft tank, I would use a maxi-jet and just go over the rock. These days turkey baster, since I don't have as much square footage to cover. I did see Ryan at BRS showed a simple way in yesterday's live stream that I'm definitely stealing next time I go big (https://youtu.be/y3_9Ju8_esw?t=3362). Ziptie a utility pump to an acrylic rod or other reef-safe material like PVC pipe, then you can aim your blasting without getting your hands wet.
