ANGUS
What's the secret on how to keep an Anemone in one place. The one I received yesterday likes to roam. I first placed in a hollowed out spot in the substrate and when that didn't work I built a corral around it using live rock. It has a very shallow foot which makes it difficult to anchor. Any help I can get would be appreciated.
chewie
they like to keep the foot in a crevice in the rocks. Either that, or under a ledge. Make sure to cover the intakes of your water movement devices.
reefgeek84
Like chewie said, they tend to like rocks more...but like most anemones, they will hunt around and move until they find a place they like...
jayR
Usually they move to where their comfortable, then stay steady for a long while. Mine always moved to the top of the tank near the light and flow.
ANGUS
Thanks for the support. It has found a rock formation that it likes that has a crevice. Looks like it is going to stay put.
pledosophy
I would definetly cover the intakes of any powerheads. Otherwise you might end up like me. IMG]http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s306/pledosophy/neminperil1.jpg[/img] I made this out of some zip ties and some filter floss, worked well. IME mine did not stay put until I started target feeding it. Luckily it was in a good spot when I did. HTH
