Jack-the-reefer
Picked this little guy up from the shop a few days ago. I couldn't help it. Now it's time to start training it to non live food.

Jack-the-reefer
Definitely will. I've been through this before. I'll probably post a tutorial on how to train them to eat frozen foods of it works again.
pdxmonkeyboy
will it eat frozen pizza? I always wonder what these fish think when they eat frozen food. It seriously has to be weird. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Jack-the-reefer
A piece of tilapia fillet the size of their eye is the best. It just takes a little effort to get them to take it.

Jack-the-reefer
I told my wife we couldn't name this guy until he was eating eating frozen food from tweezers. Tonight, he ate non live food for the first time. Were going to call him grumbledore.
Lazyreefer
Awesome fish! I remember seeing this guy at cuttlefish getting blown around the little invert tank because the flow was too high and I let them know and he was much happier after it was turned down in his chaeto ball home I almost got him too 👀 hope he lives a long healthy life! I always forget how terrible I am at updating threads. He's doing great though. He's been eating frozen consistently for about a month now. His name is grumbledore, and he's the most handsome guy in the house. Edited December 29, 2018 by Jack-the-reefer

Jack-the-reefer
I found grumbledore dead today. The little dummy tried to eat a fire shrimp that was bigger than him a few days ago. He threw the shrimp up yesterday, but I think it was too much stress for him. Bummer.

Sorry to hear of his demise - especially as he seemed to be doing so well. Note to self - don't try to eat whole fire shrimp.
lewisriverfisherman
Oh man that is terrible news! So was he hungry jack and needed some more food? Hum shrimp on the menu.
Jack-the-reefer
Thanks guys. He definitely wasn't underfed. These fish will actually keep eating, whether they need it or not, if food is available. If they overeat too much, the food decomposes in their stomach faster than they can digest it. This results in a gas bubble that often kills them. I knew the shrimp was a gonner eventually, just thought he would wait a while. They don't deal with stress all that well. The are actually surprisingly delicate little fish considering they look like the kraken.
