featherblue
noticed this on chromis a few minutes ago, looked completely healthy last night. Been in the tank for 5 days. Damage onboth sides of fish, more damaged side in photo Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Reefer Ryan
Same thing happened to me a while back when I picked up some Green Chromis. Bought 7 bright green ones, 4 got dark purple spots and died in a day or too. I didn’t see any fighting but that’s what I suspect Edited February 25, 2018 by Reefer Ryan
Emerald525
It sounds like Uronema which is common in Chromis and difficult to treat from what I have read.
ATA Wilsonville
Yeah, looks like uronema to me too.
featherblue
boo! it really does look like uronema when comparing to photos. And it's in my display reef. The 2 new chromis both have lesions, but the one I've had for 2 yrs seems healthy still. Both fish with lesions are still very active, eating, and not gasping. Hopefully this sticks to just the chromis (no clowns), and my other livestock makes it thru. I've got a 12g biocube I can set up for a hospital tank, but I'm concerned it's too small for these chromis. Should I try to treat them? Take them back to the store? featherblue
from what I've found, I need furan 2, which contains nitrofurazone, but I really appreciate the offer. I should be able to grab it at a LFS in the morning.QT is up and heating, if they make it til morning they're moving in for a few week stay. Both are still acting completely normal, so here's hoping we noticed early enough to make a difference. My attack plan is a fw dip, then into the medicated QT.Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
