N70SJ
Thinking of using Miracle Mud in my new Sump in a separate 40 gallon container with 30+ Mangro trees planted in it. Never used it. Have any of you? Is it any better than plain crushed coral you might put on the bottom of your tank?
kilmca
i used it in a sump for a 75 gallon tank i had setup about 14 years ago. that tank was only setup for about 3 years and it seemed to work well for me. at that time i relied on water changes to replenish calcium, alkalinity...etc but i had a mix of softies and LPS at that time so there wasn't a huge demand for those elements. I haven't used it in any tanks since cause it was expensive. supposedly it replenishes trace elements and you have to replace 50% every year for it to keep doing this so take that into account. if you are going for DSB just use sand it's much less expensive than the mud.
