When the skimmer is plugged in, it pulls water from the tank and doesn't overflow the top. Thus, it must be returning the skimmed water back to the tank. However the mixture of air and water seems on the low side. This could be that it was demo with very low water level. My other concerns are 1) the internal structure to maintain water level will cause strong turbulences to prevent good skimmate and possibly cleaning pain. 2) Recirculating air will draw in dry skimmate.
