andy
Dry rock may be really convenient, but it sure is dull. Zzzzzzzzz.....
ChrisQ
Yeah, it's like watching grass grow for awhile.
eclipse522
More like watching a weird underwater caterpillar. One day(several months later) it will become beautiful butterfly or a plain moth.
andy
I miss the hitchhikers. There was always something cool to look at. Might have to pick up a couple of pieces of rubble to seed the barren wasteland...
BoringDave
Dry rock may be really convenient, but it sure is dull. Zzzzzzzzz..... I hear ya Andy.. I remember back in the day when one would buy live, live rock and it would come with all sorts of stuff. Stomatellas, key hole limpeds, clams and sponges. My tank before I got out of the hobby had so many micro bristle stars and bristle worms and so much life it was crazy. Now I get back into the hobby everyone is into seeding dry rock?
eclipse522
I started with almost all dry rock and sand. I seeded my tank with one piece of live rock in sump and I also added copepods. There may have been a few small things on the macroalgea.
JManrow
I bought my first 70 lb. box of dry rock back in 1986 from a construction company in Florida. I remember the UPS driver at the door... "What in the hell you got in here anyway? Rocks?"
