ssappington
whats a fair price for larger acrylic tanks in good condition? ( no crazing, no major mods, no deep scratches) I'm thinking $2 a gallon? (BTW, I'm ISO a 240 96x24x24)
Arsonmfg
The problem with that is that it's really an open ended question... Obviously if you find your dream tank with the overflows built exactly the way you want etc it's worth more or possibly less if the other components are less desirable to you. Same thing goes for material used and thickness along with who built the tank... An Envision tank built by James is going to fetch much more than something built by the local hack job. I'd say it's easy to come up with a formula for pricing standard glass tanks but not so much when it comes to acrylic unless your talking a basic TruVu or something like that. But more than likely if your talking something that size it'll be custom built. Edited March 23, 2015 by Arsonmfg
Blackice
I think it depends more on what the cost of the tank new cost. Some truevu tanks can be had for $2-$3 bucks a gallon but most custom build thanks (envision, atm, etc) go for a couple grand or more! If you find a used acrylic tank with no minor damage for under $1000 your doing good!
pledosophy
Depends on the tank. I just bought a used 30ish gallon cube for $200 and I was stoked on it. Then again when I sell stuff I just wanna get rid of it so I sell it cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jorge
Tough to generalize price on a tank just based on gallons. The difference between a 1/2" 240 and a 3/4" or 1" is substantial. Just ask Chris (arsonmfg).. I'll say this though, do not go anything less than 3/4" on a 240!.. Good luck Steve.
pledosophy
Personally is go 1" on a 240. But, I went 1" for a 30 so maybe I am over cautious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Arsonmfg
A span of 8' should definitely be built out of 1" without a doubt.
