pledosophy
They had a 20 rimless at Petco? Crazy. I need to stop in there one of these days. Looking good man.
Aerixx
It wasn't rimless when it started I did that part myself, then went to gresham glass and has them cut a place for the external overflow baffles pretty cheap way to get a rimless tank $
pledosophy
Nice job! I didn't know gresham glass would do that. Crazy cool
Aerixx
20L Rimless Yea they can drill cutouts and drill holes for you it was $15, not bad. They did tell me there was no guarentee though, there is always a small chance the glass can crack, but the did a great job and it turned out great
Emerald525
Wow! Great job! The tank looks great and what a deal! Looks as good as some of the custom glass tanks I have seen. That's a great tip about Gresham Glass. I have heard it is simple to drill glass but I'm always (scary). And with a 20 dollar tank it's not a huge loss! How did you remove the rim from the 20L? I love the blueprint of that size tank! Would make a great frag tank!(clap)(clap)(clap)
Blue Z Reef
The rims are pretty easy to remove with just some razor blades and some time. Looks really nice, how was the glass edge under the rim? I've heard horror stories of them being pretty rough since they plan on covering them anyway. You making a skin for the stand? Good job being a baller on a budget (clap)
Aerixx
20L Rimless The Rim is easy to get off, time consuming but with a Razor it comes off. The edge was pretty clean, a little sharp but nothing to worry about, you could dremel the edge if needed. The Return hole i actually drilled myself, I bought a 1" diamond bit off Amazon for about $6 it did a good job, I used plumbers putty to make a water pond around the hole i drilled, it's pretty easy to drill glass http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000TYIWUW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1413931310&sr=8-3π=SX200_QL40 Yea I am making a real stand later, I want to make it oversized to fit a bigger tank I will get in the future, hAvnt figured that part out yet though.
