Blackice
Here is my dilemma I have the great open rock structure on the right side of the tank but I have no idea what to put there, any Ideas? Some thing cool unique and colorful!
lysacollins
Sun coral/dendro of some sort. Colors really pop and low light is needed. I have a fox coral that did really well under low light. If you can find one maybe it would be a nice addition.
matty
I think something like this (naughty)
Jorge
Maybe a favia. I love how bigger colonies grow into a nice sphere.
Blackice
I think something like this (naughty) Dam I need sun glass for that tank!!!! I was thinking sun coral but have hesitated cuz of the feeding, and not finding healthy ones.
matty
In my experience, dendro's are much better and heartier than sun coral but my god they can be expensive!
Emerald525
chalices would do well, they tend to do well in low light and come in all kinds of bright colors

Blackice
So was google surfing and any one here have a chilli coral there very colorfull and from what I have read there pretty hardy just need feed. (What doesn't)
rworegon
Aqua serene here in Eugene has a terrific chili coral right now. The shipper sent it by mistake. Bright pink. I thought they were hard to keep though. I would try chalice our acans. Does look like a nice spot for Sun polyps though.

So did I but I read two tread the had said they wore one of the few to survive massive tank crashes one even compared it to gsp as to its hardiness. kireek
I have always been fond of the Sun corals and dendros,I have not been able to keep them alive.(Any more hints matty?)I would steer you towards the favia or favites category. PeteRock
I would go chalice or acans.
pledosophy
I'm not sure you can keep the food density up for a chili coral or any other filter feeding nps in a tank your size without serious modification and expense. I do not think there is a way to do it with SPS long term at all IME. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blackice
You don't think you can get away with spot feeding once a day?
pledosophy
Sun corals, dendro's yes Others that don't actively accept larger foods no. That is why I bought that whole fridge system with the internal pumps I have been looking into NPS for awhile and experimented with a few
Mandinga
Something soft...maybe some rics, shrooms, sinularia, or possibly some macro algae like dragons breath. NPS is not an ideal choice, like Pled said, they have huge demanding feeding requirements. I'd also say give it some time, those holes and caves will fill in over time. I set acans, and brain corals under my ledges

PeteRock
Hard to see the whole picture and anlges, but you may be able to tilt that whole rock colum a little bit better and get some more light on those ledges in the front and less on the back where you don't see it. That would open up your options a bit more.
badxgillen
Lobos, pectinia, and mycedium are all pretty good with low lighting.
badxgillen
I also agree with what every one else has said about the non photosynthetic corals having a different demand on the system and favia, favites, chalices, softies, and duncans working out too. rworegon
Another thing you might try there are some Fungia, or plate corals.
