Bicyclebill
Here's a stupid question. All of the non-BRS 2 part solutions say to shake well before use and to dose once or twice a week. Fine and dandy. What if I'm sticking my dosing pump tube in there and going to dose several times a day; do I have to shake well before each dose? Once a day? Once to start and let it go until it's empty?
TheClark
Ya that is annoying and a good question. Every once in a while I give it a shake (Seachem Reef Fusion 2 part) but alkalinity is rock steady so I think it is working. Maybe that is the key, if you don't shake it and it stays steady? catfish2
I was using seachem reef fusion before I switched to brs 2 part and I would just shake the bottle every now and then. Maybe once a week. That seemed to work fine for me.

TheClark
Well I wanted to do one of these but the wife said no That would totally do the job! One for each container on a timer (nutty)
pledosophy
I think she could hold both at once You only need to shake one of them though for the kind I use.
Bicyclebill
So with that question answered, what are you guys dosing? I've used BRS for years. Is there any benefit to using fancified versions from c-balance or bright well aquatics? Is it all the same?
pledosophy
I like Brightwell because it has the magnesium in it and I only have 3 dosing pumps. So an a a b and a vodka Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TheClark
Good question, I often wonder the same as a 2 part dosing reefer. Allot of guys user BRS and B-Ionic and even the DIY 2 part. Seachem was recommended to me by a friend. He had a beautiful tank, the biggest tyree blue flower petal monti I have ever seen. So I gave it a try. Seachem reef fusion is the most concentrated I have found. Using the reef chemistry calculator you can verify that. More than BRS, B-Ionic or DIY 2 part. Being more concentrated is nice but by no means a must. Like brightwell it does calcium and alk, but also adds trace elements. Here is a copy paste from the site. Calcium (min) 95 mg Calcium (max) 105 mg Magnesium 5 mg Strontium 0.1 mg Boron 0.020 mg Iron 0.0005 mg Manganese 0.0001 mg Molybdenum 0.0005 mg Rubidium 0.014 mg Seems like a good option. TheClark
is this for your office tank? For some reason I was thinking your home display tank had a calcium reactor.
Bicyclebill
Yep, office tank. I'm running calcium reactor on home tank and pretty happy with simplicity. Ended up ordering some esv b ionic. I'm using the jebao dosing pump. Works fine but noisy as heck
TheClark
Oh man, I had no idea the jebao was noisy, it is on the other side of my tank and I never hear it. Bummer, but killer price / functionality / value. Allot of guys use b ionic, what pushed you over the edge?
