ReefStar
Just started a couple of days ago. My closed loop system is spitting out micro bubbles. I can not figure out where it is coming from. The CL is running on a hammer head pump then into a Ocean Motion. I looked all over and can not figure out where the micro bubbles are coming from.(flame) Is the pump going bad? Help! Rick
This usually means there is a small leak. I.E. Loose fitting etc.
impur
How large is the hole for the pump input? If its any smaller than 1.5", the pump is probably cavitating.
Lowman
it could also be air in the cl lines. close a ballvalve, then turn on the pump. slowly reopen the valve to bleed the air off.
ReefStar
The intake is 2". I will try closing the valve and bleeding it.
chewie
Was the pump new? If not, check the impeller. There may be a nick on the impeller, or debris wedged inside the impeller.
MVPaquatics
this happened to me before too...was just air in the return line...if you have multiple return outlets (I had 4), plug the closest return outlets to the pump and the increased pressure will blast the air out the farthest outlet...
