NoobtoSalt
I'm pretty sure that this is a clove polyp but I haven't had them in the tank before and it just started to grow. Kind of odd...but I can deal with hitchhiker corals..(laugh) Sorry it's a cellphone picture.

stylaster
if it is non pulsing and doesnt grow on a stalk, but instead sends out runners along the rock it's clove polyp, otherwise it is some sort of xenia species
Michael7979
Almost asked the same question Roy about, "does it pulse?"
NoobtoSalt
Do they end up becoming a problem like xenia?
NoobtoSalt
But no it doesn't pulse.
stylaster
they can be, but they coexist a lot better then xenia. I have never had cloves kill another coral near them, they will grow in among other corals such as zoanthids and in time could shade them out

Then I started to look at it a little closer and realized it didn't look like xenia. I will keep a close eye on it but it is near my red mushrooms right now.
