Go with the sugar size if you can. I bought bulk from seahorse and it is ok but the smaller the better if you ask me. If you are going to have sand sifting fish in there like a diamond then the bigger stuff might be better. It will look like a cloud with the smaller stuff until the tank settles in.

Personally I prefer much larger sizes, just about the biggest sand you can have before you start getting into the crushed coral sizes. IME the smaller sand blows around like crazy in my tank, but I do run quite a bit of alternating current.

I love my sand!!! It is small but not sugar small I have read sugar sand and high flow don't mix well. I picked mine up from Hollywood but I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Well worth it IMO but for 200 pounds maybe not LOL. How many gallons is the tank it is going into? Its hard to tell from pick but it has some little pink specks mixed in. DSC_1875.jpg

Not sure how much I need yet. I am going to start a 30 gall in the garage and when I get my new stand built a 125 in my living room. So I was hoping to get about 200 lbs or so. Was really hoping to get it from Rick. Does anyone know how to get ahold of him?

So still looking for cheap sand doesn't look like Rick has logged on in sometime' date=' anyone else have some cheap for cheap?[/quote']

My son is currently on leave so we have been spending most of our time with him. I currently don't have any however the last time I did a group buy the sand was here a couple of days after I ordered it. I need to double check the prices and I'll go ahead and start one. (I have a few other requests in my PM's for sand also so I think we can get one going pretty fast)
