Chiller 101

I got a chiller off CL about a month ago and am now getting around to looking at it. They didn't filter it so its full of sand and builtup crap. I checked the manf. website for any maintenance docs, but theres very little. What would you pro's recommend i flush this thing out with and get it all good to go for this summer.

you can flush it with distilled white vinegar. also run it through with some ro water. other than that not much else.

i will try the vinegar, but i'm thinking i will need something more powerfull to get rid of the buildup.

Close loop it through a mag 7 or 9 with 10 feet of hose plumbed through the lid of a 5g bucket. As the mag pushes the debris around it will fall in the 5g bucket. Run for a couple days.

I have that setup now running some warm vinegar water through it. Do you think that will get rid of the deposits or should i try and clean the coils with a flex brush?

that should do the trick. vinegar will remove coraline algae so it should remove the build up.

go get a gallon of muriatic acid from home depot (in the garden section) and run it through it.
