Barelycuda
Hey all, I'm excited that I finally have acquired a couple pairs of broodstock that I have been looking for. I picked up a pair of banggai cardinals. I have been trying to put a pair of these together but finally found a mated pair so now hopefully in the near future there will be banggai babies. Secondly I found a pair of red scooter dragonets. I like these much better than the gray ones. The ones I found are from sumatra and are eating frozen brine and mysis already. Updates to come once they are QT'd and doing good. Dave

Mikep503
I have had a pair of breeding Bangai for a while now. It's a pretty cool process. Here is a link to a page with some pretty good info: http://www.reefs.org/library/talklog/k_clarke_102499.html Do the red scooter dragonets breed in captivity? jgf86123
Same here, definitely gonna keep an eye on this one, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how you do with the dragonets Dave, once the babies from that pairing come upfor sale, I will definitely be taking one off your hands. Barelycuda
Thanks for the link. Yes the red scooter dragonets do breed in captivity. I know Matt Pedersen has done them personally. There are also others that have bred them as well. I have been chatting with Matt about these and he will give me advice as needed. I'll get some pics once they are in the QT tank. A friend of mine is going to QT for me and I'll bring them home after that. Dave
Mr S
If anyone can breed them, I have faith in you Dave. Would be interested to see if I could breed Bangaiis at school.
Barelycuda
Roger, I would think you could. They are mouth brooders so they would be one of the easier species to rear. The kids would think it is really cool
