newfisher
I'm thinking with 4 tanks up and running inside the house its time for a dehumidifier. Has anyone used one with tanks in the house? Am I just asking to make more ro/di water? Anyone have a 30 to 50 pint unit ,fairly new for SALE ?
siskiou
Yep, I'm using one in the living room! Runs fairly loud, but humidity is over 70 without, and it has the wonderful side effect of heating the room much cheaper than our heater! During the summer the a/c dehumidifies, so we only run the regular dehumidifier in the colder months. I'm sure it affects evaporation a little, but that's better than growing mold in the house, imo. Twitterbait
I just keep the tanks and sumps covered and i don't have any issues. Most AC units also have a dehumidifier.
Mikep503
I have one in my living room with my 210 gallon tank. I hate the noisy thing but it does a great job. I can't imagine the mold issues I would have without it. Wish I just had room for a wood stove to counter act the moisture with the dry heat. newfisher
I have a heat pump system with electronic filtration,A/C and recuirc fan along with a wood stove as back up heat, but running the hvac system drives the bill up and I'm getting tired of old fashioned wood cutting, splitting and stacking. I like the cover idea, but wouldn't work with what I've done with yo-yo's, cyliner tank and canopies. Thanks for the inputs!

Michael7979
I found that Lowes had the best prices when I was shopping for mine. Got the 70 (or 90) pint unit. Working great!
