pledosophy
For a controlable pump that is a pretty good price.
R-3
For a controlable pump that is a pretty good price. Do you have to use their controller?? Or can you use a generic wavemaker. Would be awesome if you didnt have to use their controller as it is I think $300.
andy
These guys are controllable the same way a Maxijet is, not the same way a Tunze is. They're still simple single-phase AC motors, but they have a much friendlier rubber prop-stop so frequent power cycling won't chew up the impeller. I'm wondering how loud their chattering will be on power-up; if they ar etoo loud, having them on a timer will drive me bonkers. Either way, I'll be replacing my current (mostly borked) Koralias with these guys over time... unless I break down and buy a couple of Tunzes again (nutty)
biomekanic
I used 2 of the original Koralia 2 with a Taam controller, and never noticed any chattering. They worked just fine for me.
andy
Which Taam controller? If it's the Seio one you wouldn't -- that one works by shifting the phase of the AC rather than toggling power on/off.
