madmike
I run a 57w and a 40w aqua uv on my two tanks but I'm not really sure they do anything. The only fish that has ever showed ich is my achilles tang but it went away fairly quickly, so it might be doing something. When I setup the new tank I am going to re-plumb my system and use these on my piping to my uv so I know exactly how much flow is running to it. I think I am going to put one on my chiller/heater and skimmer also. http://www.blue-white.com/Products/VariableArea/F-300/pitot_productpage.asp If you do decide to run UV, i recommend the aqua UV or the emporor aquatics units, both solid performers. MadReefer
I did for a while but it is now off. Just when I had a new tank with new fish I thought it might help the fish battle ich. It is now off so that it doesn't kill pods and such.
Danik
Mike do you run them 24/7? I run a 57w and a 40w aqua uv on my two tanks but I'm not really sure they do anything. CA2OR
I run my UV 24\7 with no complaints, no problems with the fish either, plus it seems to polish the water a bit.

markdadof2
I have one sitting around, but have never used it on my reef tank. I haven't heard of enough benefits to get it set up. Geez, my sump is busy enough as it is! ha.
bobby1212
I have a canister filter that has one built in. I run it when I get new fish and have not had an ich problem since doing that. I run it for about a week and a half and then turn it of until I get another new fish
Queen Angel
I run one 24/7 on a fish only with live rock and softies. Which reminds me, Im sure its time to replace the bulb.
mytshall
Ozone Ozone takes it to the next level. Seems like you need a few extra things though.
tigerv503
I hooked up a 65w emperor UV sterilizer for my 300 gal and it works great. All my fish are itch free and the water is crystal clear!
reef165
I herd form a sales rep a while back that the bulbs useful life is only 6 months tops on the bulbs so I never thought they were very good.
