reef165 Posted November 23, 2009 Share Posted November 23, 2009 Ok, Im getting a 400 HQI setup with se mogle and am wondering what everyone prefers and why, Overdriving SE or going with the HQI bulbs and would ya use 20k with no act. or 15k with act, it comes with 4 VHO's so would ya even go with a 12k? Rick Posted November 23, 2009 Share Posted November 23, 2009 Depends upon the cost of the bulbs. If they're cheap enough then I would run the DE however they are harder to find. (Patrick has some for a good price under the front counter if I recall right) I run an HQI ballast on my middle 250w with an SE and I'm considering downgrading to 250w SE with HQI dual ballast on the ends.
