moovinfast
I was browsing craigslist and found some 1/2" sheets of glass for cheap. Just thought I spread the word in case someone is looking to build a glass tank. And if you do, do you want to build me one too? http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/for/1413987842.html
ciao
Don't you need it to be non-tempered glass in order to be able to drill holes in it? If that is the case, what would be the work around for using such glass if you aren't able to drill into it to filter/skimm the water? Just curious
madmike
I called and he said it was glass used for shelving and didn't think it was tempered, but he wasn't sure if is clear or tinted.
impur
To drill holes it cannot be tempered. But you don't need tempered glass to build a tank. My cube i'm building will have an external coast to coast overflow to eliminate the need for any holes in the tank itself. The return will come up thru the overflow. reef165
Ive seen this several times and even if its tempered, you could use some of it and get reg glass for the pieces that ya need holes in.
