markdadof2
Check the colors of this acan out...I have never seen one this bright pink. I couldn't NOT take this beauty home, and the price from Patrick was sweet!
CA2OR
pretty nice piece there Mark, you said you didn't get it? I tried to go to that store before but they weren't open and I couldn't wait for them to return. Maybe next time.

markdadof2
I DID get it...I said I couldn't NOT take this home (double negative = positive) He is all puffed up in my tank and looking great - there is about 28-30 heads on this guy! Patrick had a really nice RED acan that I was eyeing as well.
albertareef
That is awesome Mark! I wonder if it came from Perry's... he had an amazing collection when I was there last weekend including some crazy pink ones like that. They really stand out! Nice score (rock2)

stylaster
A word of warning, a hot pink acan like that is actually a bleached acan! I have one that started out as a common red and green striped one. After being under too much light for about a month is turned that hot pink color, i have moved it since under a ledge and it is returning to it's original color. Rick
We looked at that one a few days ago. Also had some other really nice pieces in the same tank.

Patrick said he had it for quite some time and it was under some fairly low lighting, with some othe intense red acans. Do acans not naturally occur in pink? CA2OR
I would imagine. I have seen several pink acan colonies.
tidalsculpin
Not sure about pink acans, but the August frag fest in Eugene was of a pink acan. It turned out to be a classic looking red/tan acan lord at the bottom of the tank under lower light.
