wanareef
This is a 48" x 12" x 18" 40 gal acrylic tank - soon to be sump. The top is only 12" across and the opening is a mere 6 1/4" across not enough to even get your head in there and turn around. Having a lot of scraps laying around, I found some that would make a great pattern. And since I'm using a pattern bit with the ballbrg on the bottom the corners don't have to match perfectly. (pix 4) Then just route away. Pix 2 is the finished opening. With 2 sets of baffles in place, that center brace can come out. Next, cut up some plastic to use as baffles and a sock holder. Barelycuda
Looks good. I did a similar project with a 55g tru-vu tank. Dave

wanareef
Well it's done. Retrofiting a "used" tank that is not square is trial and error. I've done this before so I knew what to expect. Always a challenge I added a ATO bracket and a dual probe holder just in case a controller is used.
